Made in collaboration with our dear friends at Walker Brothers in Nashville, this limited-release non-alcoholic drink blends Apollo and tangerine purée with their incredible house kombucha. The *sparkly* result is a unique kombucha boasting hints of ripe citrus that complement Apollo’s delicate acidity and floral undertones—reminiscent of a coffee soda. YUM!
The Walker brothers
We first met the Walker brothers, Sam and Luke, at Charleston Wine + Food in the spring of 2023. We knew their kombucha was exceptionally delicious, so when they suggested we could brew something together, we knew it would be good.
Tangerine & Apollo
To bring this drink to life, we chose a coffee that paired well with their base kombucha—Apollo was the standout, due to its inherent profile as a light and bright Ethiopian coffee. Then we tasted several fruit infusions and agreed that tangerine brought it all together.
Walker Brothers learned through previous coffee-kombucha releases that freshly roasted beans pair well with berries and citrus. For this collaboration, they thought it'd be especially fitting to emulate a coffee soda. Since seeing coffee and kombucha together may strike as an odd pairing, they wanted to make this release as approachable as possible.
Coffee & Kombucha
The Tangerine & Coffee release is not Walker Brothers' first coffee kombucha, but it is their first collaboration outside their home state of Tennessee. They said the purpose of their series is two-fold, “to pleasantly surprise consumers with a nuanced flavor combination that will be memorable, and create a continuous platform for partnering with other coffee companies that we respect—a salute to an industry that we appreciate.”
